A comprehensive approach to healing

I became a therapist after having my own experience with therapy following the death of a loved one. My therapist didn’t answer all my questions or solve my problems; what she did was create space for me, challenged me, and helped me heal myself on my terms. Our work together changed my outlook on life, and find joy again. I will forever be grateful for my therapist (Pam) and the help she provided during a time when I felt completely lost.

I have worked in Residential, Partial Hospital, Intensive Outpatient, and Private Practice settings. I have extended training in addictions, trauma, adolescent mental health, and couples therapy. I have a holistic approach to therapy and I have learned that what might work for one client might not work for the next “You have to find your own recipe” as one client said and I am a firm believer of that statement. I feel completely honored to get to sit with each one of my incredible clients as they work on their healing.

When I’m not counseling, I am teaching Pilates, practicing Pilates, spending time with my family, or hanging out with our dogs Benny, Rosie and Buster. I also love to geek out on mental health podcasts, books, and trainings. (If you work with me I will likely send you videos and podcasts that I find helpful).

ABOUT

Our Services

  • Individual Therapy

I use a combination of CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) to help clients consider different perspectives and create behavior change. I also teach client’s about their nervous system and how to calm themselves. I encourage all my clients to have a movement practice. It is not uncommon for our sessions to be held walking.

  • EMDR

Past experiences can contribute to the lens we view the world through and how we see ourselves. I am a trained EMDR therapist through EMDRIA. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a powerful tool to help clients process memories that have contributed to anxiety, depression, and PTSD. www.emdria.com

  • Pilates

As a movement teacher for over 20 years I have witnessed the transformation that can occur when someone gets to know their body. Pilates is the most mindful form of movement I have experienced. It is great for nervous system regulation and overall strength. I am a comprehensively trained contemporary instructor through BASI (Body Arts and Science International) and have been teaching Pilates consistently since 2013. I also went through Eillie Herman’s Comprehensive Training in San Francisco in 2003 and taught throughout the Bay Area as I worked toward full certification (I moved to WI before that happened but kept up my practice). I am currently working toward my 3rd training with Balanced Body.
