A comprehensive approach to healing
I became a therapist after having my own experience with therapy following the death of a loved one. My therapist didn’t answer all my questions or solve my problems. What she did was create space for me, challenged me, and helped me explore my thoughts and emotions. Our work together changed my outlook on life, and find joy again. I still use the tools today, decades later. I will forever be grateful for my therapist (Pam) and the help she provided during a time where I didn’t know which end was up or if I would ever feel whole again.
I have worked in Residential, Partial Hospital, Intensive Outpatient, and Private Practice settings. I have extended training in addictions, trauma, adolescent mental health, and couples therapy. I have a holistic approach to therapy and I have learned that what might work for one client might not work for the next “You have to find your own recipe” as one client said and I am a firm believer of that statement. I feel completely honored to get to sit with each one of my incredible clients as they work on their healing.
When I’m not counseling, I am teaching Pilates, practicing Pilates, spending time with my family, or hanging out with our dogs Benny, Rosie and Buster. I also love to geek out on mental health podcasts, books, and trainings. (If you work with me I will likely send you videos and podcasts that I find helpful).
ABOUT
Our Services
-
Individual Therapy
I use a combination of CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) to help clients consider different perspectives and create behavior change. I also teach client’s about their nervous system and how to calm themselves. I encourage all my clients to have a movement practice. It is not uncommon for our sessions to be held walking.
-
Couples Counseling
Good Relationships take work. Together we can identify what is missing in your relationship, improve communication, and find ways to help you connect and strengthen your marriage.
-
EMDR
Past experiences can contribute to the lens we view the world through and how we see ourselves. I am a trained EMDR therapist through EMDRIA. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a powerful tool to help clients process traumatic memories that contribute to anxiety, depression, and PTSD. www.emdria.org
